Nocturnal Happenings in Asia

Fancy a truly memorable night going wild? Take a long-tail boat down the Nam Nern River in north eastern Laos into the only accessible area of Nam Et-Phou Louey National Park, for some nocturnal wildlife-spotting. The park contains an incredibly diverse range of carnivores, including six species of cat (tiger, leopard, clouded leopard, Asian golden cat, marbled cat and leopard cat) and two species of bear, as well as otters and the white-cheeked crested gibbon. The Nam Nern Night Safari is not only one of the few opportunities in Laos to view rare wildlife, but the trip is also designed to support alternative livelihoods for local people and generate community support for conservation of tigers and other wildlife.
